La La Cachette (The Hideaway) nr Lorient
Sleeps 4 This lovely detached stone cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to include many original features and with your luxury and comfort in mind. Set in lawned gardens, with your own private patio and BBQ. The pool, although mainly private to you, is also available to the owner when guests are not using it. There is a children's play set (swings, rope and slide).
Downstairs is open plan lounge, dining area, and kitchen. The kitchen is fully fitted with every possible implement you may need for your holiday, including microwave, electric oven, gas hob, storage areas, and tea towels are supplied even though there is a dishwasher. There is also a washing machine. The lounge has comfortable seating and a TV with DVD player and satellite connection with Free Sat channels. Wireless internet connection via your own laptop.
Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, one with a king size bed and ample storage space. The Twin room has two single beds, and again ample storage space.
The family bathroom has full bath, with shower over, toilet and vanity unit with sink. Outside you can lounge by the heated 4x8 metre swimming pool (heat exchanger - pool temperature always between 27-29 degrees). Below right is the private patio area for eating au plein air and there is a wood burning chiminea if it drops cool, but unlikely in July and August! Pool open mid-June to mid September.
Bed linen and kitchen linen are provided, you just need your own towels. Also there is a starter supply of teabags, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, cleaning materials, kitchen roll and toilet roll, along with a few miniature toiletries if you need them. AREA Only a 25 minute drive to Port Louis, the nearest beach (sandy) which is east of Lorient. There is a huge choice of beaches and towns all within half an hour's drive. A few minute's drive will have you at the River Blavet with its towpath for walking and cycling. The nearest large village has the usual compliment of shops, restaurants and a large Intermarché supermarket. Friday mornings there is a local food market in the church square car park with crepes, cheese, shell fish and cooked chickens and other foods available. Loads to do for all tastes in this area, or simply chill out and do nothing!
