In the
lovely village of Glomel, just off the N164 between the towns of
Carhaix and Rostrenen approximately 1hr 15mins from The Roscoff Ferry
Terminal and a little longer from St Malo.
Glomel
is the perfect spot for breaking your journey to the south or on your
way home. Why not stay a little longer and enjoy this beautiful,
unspoilt area. Ideally situated for anyone house-hunting in Brittany.
All rooms have refrigerators, tea/coffee facilities, CD/radio and
heaters. The Sitting Room has a television which provides UK Sky. Dogs
and Smokers welcomed.
Located
in the centre of a typical, pretty rural village which has a Cafe bar,
Pub/Bar with games, Boulangerie, Mini Market as well as a Pharmacy,
Post Office and Restaurant.
Lake
Etang du Corong is at the bottom of the lane which runs alongside the
house, it offers fishing, swimming and boating for non-motorised
craft. There is also a man-made beach and tennis courts. Several
woodland walks can be taken around the shore line.
A private entrance takes you to the upper floor
where you will find
the two bedrooms and bathroom in this charming stone farmhouse. The owners
are French, who speak fluent English, Italian and get by in several other
languages! The rooms are comfortable, light and airy and very tastefully decorated.
The first bedroom has a double bed, and if required a small single portable bed
for a smaller child (between 2 -8 years). Master Bedroom has different
areas, sleeping, TV/video and seating area - behind the screen a fridge and
kettle etc
The second bedroom has a double bed.
All linen is supplied and beds have continental quilts. The family bathroom is
shared between the two bedrooms.
The B&B is only ever let out to one
booking at a time. So this is ideal for two couples or a family of up to
five children. So if you have no intention of cooking for yourself on your
holiday, this is the ideal place for your stay. The area is perfect for
cycling, and if you like horses, then you will be very happy to see the mares
and their foals in the nearby pastures. The lands stretch for ten hectares
so if horses are not to your pleasure you can take them or leave them.
There are other animals that live here too: three very soft and friendly dogs, a
couple of cats, rabbits and about 30 chickens!
There is a summer kitchen in the
wooden summer house with full cooking facilities, cooker, microwave, fridge etc.
So in effect you can have self catering in this house if you wish.
Within the grounds is an orchard and a wood for exploring and of course the swing set in
the front garden. The large gardens are private and enclosed with an
electronic gate, so safe for younger children. There is a BBQ and lovely
picnic bench for you to enjoy your breakfast outside, if you wish; otherwise the
breakfast will be served in the dining area of the French owners (who speak
excellent English and Spanish). Only 8km from the beaches; there are lots
of things to do and see from this very special house.
You may request dinner to be taken with
the owners, or dine out each night - you have the choice, but would need to give
at least one day's notice to the owners.

Pete & Jean, invite you to extend your holiday in
mid-Brittany whilst en-route to the ferry port at Roscoff & St Malo, at
their lovely house in the peaceful Breton countryside.
It is in a convenient position for the channel ports
of Roscoff and St Malo, making it well placed for overnight stops on your
way south, or to break the journey on the way back home. Being in central
Brittany and within easy travelling distance from Roscoff and St Malo it
is an ideal place for short breaks and weekend breaks, as well as longer
stays, to explore the Brittany countryside and coasts.
The chambres d'hote is set in one hectare of land
with all the bedrooms and the guest lounge enjoying extensive views over
the surrounding central Brittany countryside. The coasts of Brittany
(north, south and west) are about an hours drive away and provide a
variety of different coastlines and beaches.
We offer comfortable bedrooms, some of which have an
en-suite shower room. There is a guest lounge and dining room where coffee
and tea facilities are available. Guests are also invited to enjoy the
garden. We can provide home cooked evening meals, including vegetarian
menus, by arrangement, using our own produce when available. We are open
